Cadres & Position Details

1. Superintendent Cadre (General Duty)

• Assistant Superintendent I (CONPASS 09)

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Engineering, or any related discipline

  • Scope: Exclusive to the Nigeria Immigration Service

• Assistant Superintendent II (CONPASS 08)

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in any discipline

  • Scope: Available across all CDCFIB agencies—apply here for the Immigration stream

2. Inspectorate Cadre

• Currently, NIS typically focuses on professional cadre; roles like Senior Inspector of Fire fall under other services.

3. Assistant Cadre

• Assistant III (CONPASS 03)

  • Qualifications: Minimum of SSCE with at least five (5) credits (including English & Mathematics)

• Drivers, Artisans, Mechanics

  • Must hold valid trade test certificates and relevant licenses

• Citizenship: Must be Nigerian by birth

• Age: 18–35 years

• Height: Minimum 1.65 m (M), 1.60 m (F)

• Chest (Males): Minimum 0.87 m

• Character: No criminal convictions or history of financial embarrassment

• Medical: Must present a medical fitness certificate from a recognized government hospital
